“Rosé is a beautiful wine and I can often be found with a chilled glass of it in my hand taking in the beauty of our vineyards. We wanted our inaugural rosé to find inspiration in our flagship wines, and to emphasize Napa’s most special grape, Cabernet Sauvignon, so we decided to make a rosé primarily from our Cabernet Sauvignon production. During fermentation of our red wines, about 10% of the juice was bled off, in the traditional Saignée method, making this rosé speak as closely as possible to our legendary home vineyard. Just like I'm Spencer’s scion, this rosé is my pet project!
2015 as a vintage was characterized by its low yields and early harvest, but that results in a wonderful concentration of bright, fresh fruit flavor. This inaugural rosé is blended from all our red grapes harvested giving a delightfully rare complexity on the palate.”
